Oliver Racz

* Košice, January 7, 1947 – / research physician, university professor ; ; Son of writer and poet Olivér Rácz Id. He completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown (1965), and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Šafárik University there (1971). From 1971 to 1986, he was an assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the university, then an assistant professor. In 1978, he received the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences. From 1986, he was a department head at the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the university, in 1992 he was habilitated as an associate professor, and from 1997, he was a university professor and dean of the Faculty of Medicine. His research interests include diabetes, oxidative damage to the body and antioxidant defense. He is a member of several Slovak and international scientific societies. His publications appear in Slovak and foreign journals. He is also involved in scientific dissemination. He lives in Košice.
