* Bratislava, December 22, 1895 – † Budapest, October 26, 1950 / literary historian, university professor, corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1932) ; ; He completed his university studies – as an Eötvös student – in Budapest. In 1918 he obtained a doctorate in humanities, and in 1919 a teaching degree in Hungarian-German. Later, he was a lecturer in German at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Sciences. From 1927 he was a private teacher, from 1936 he was a teacher of German literary history at the Budapest Teacher Training Institute, and from 1941 until his death he was a public full professor at the University of Debrecen. Above all, he was concerned with the exploration of German literature and culture in Hungary, as well as Hungarian-German literary relations, but also with music history and Hungarian literature.
