* Bánya, April 1, 1812 – † Florence, April 1, 1875 / lawyer, ethnographer, horticultural writer, politician, corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1857) ; ; He studied philosophy and law at the University of Pest. In 1839–1840 he was a liberal envoy of Turóc County to the Bratislava Parliament and spoke in favor of freedom of speech. During the War of Independence of 1848/49 he withdrew, and although he was tried before a military tribunal, he was eventually acquitted. In 1852 he became president of the National Music and patronized young musicians. On his initiative, the Fine Arts Society was established, and in 1858 he established the Hungarian Horticultural Society. In 1859 he established a nursery and a horticultural institute in Rákospalota. ; As the universal supervisor of the Lutheran Church, he organized the protest of the Protestant churches in Hungary against the cultural policy of the Austrian Minister of Culture L.
