Lajos Presinszky

* Nagycétény, December 10, 1939 – † Somorja, April 3, 2010 / local historian, teacher ; ; He began his school studies in his native village, graduating from the Párkány high school in 1957. He obtained a teaching certificate in geography and history from the Hungarian department of the Higher Pedagogical College in Bratislava in 1960. He began his teaching career in Nagycétény, then taught in Nagylég and Nagyszarvá. Between 1967 and 1984, he worked for the Dunaszerdahely district committee of the Communist Party of Slovakia, and in 1984–1986 as an independent party chairman. From 1988 until his death, he was the head of the Somorja Homeland Knowledge House. He primarily dealt with local history and the collection of peasant and folk traditions from Csallóköz.
