* Selmecbánya, November 25, 1871 – † Budapest, March 4, 1963 / mechanical engineer, teacher at the Technical University ; ; son of Ede Pöschl. He completed his secondary school studies in his hometown. He obtained his diploma at the Budapest Technical University in 1893. From 1893 to 1895 he was an assistant teacher with Károly Zipernowsky. At the beginning of 1896, after completing his study trip abroad, he joined the electrical department of the Ganz Factory. Here he was the head of the test room from 1899, and from 1906 onwards he was responsible for the further development and modernization of electric motors. In 1917 he became an invited lecturer at the Budapest Technical University, and in 1920 he obtained a private teaching qualification there, and from 1925 he became a full-time teacher. From 1917, as a colleague of Kálmán Kandó (1869–1931), he participated in the development of the experimental phase-changing locomotive and then, based on it, the new 50-period traction system. In addition to the machines of the electric locomotive, he was mainly concerned with the development of the excitation dynamos of synchronous generators. He received the Zipernowsky Jubilee Prize in 1926 for his paper On the Variation of the Speed of Induction Motors. He was an excellent teacher who educated generations of engineers, and in his lectures he was able to bring the requirements of theory and practice into a rare harmony. ; ; His main works: ; On Single- and Multiphase Induction Motors (Polytechnic Review), 1907, ; The Influence of Ventilation on the Dimensioning of Electrical Machines (Electrical Engineering), 1909, ; Industrial Application of Closed Motors (Electrical Engineering), 1911, ; On the operational safety of electrical machines (Electrical Engineering), 1913, ; On the operational conditions of electrical machines (Electrical Engineering), 1918, ; On the speed variation of induction motors (Electrical Engineering), 1926, ; Electrical Engineering I-III. (with József Kellner), 1922–1926, ; On the Kandó phase-shifting traction system (Technika), 1930.
