* Vienna, May 10, 1820 – † Budapest, November 29, 1898 / mining engineer, academic teacher ; ; He studied law in Győr, then mining in Selmecbánya from 1837 to 1839. Between 1843 and 1845 he continued his studies in natural sciences and technology in Vienna. Upon his return, he entered the treasury service in 1846. In 1850 he was a temporary teacher at the Selmecbánya Academy, and from 1855 he was a full professor of architecture and descriptive geometry. He was the director of the Academy from 1873 to 1876. He retired in 1887. As a researcher, he primarily dealt with calculating the performance of steam engines used in water lifting, as well as with theoretical problems of the operation of compressors and drilling machines. He was also interested in music and played the flute excellently. His articles were published in the Berg- und Hüttenmännisches Jahrbuch, as well as in the Mining and Metallurgical Journals.
