* Bratislava, August 4, 1859 – † Budapest, June 23, 1923 / philosopher, corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1920) ; ; He obtained a teaching certificate in Hungarian-philosophy and then Latin-German at the University of Budapest in 1881. In 1884–1885 he was a deputy teacher at the Piarist Gymnasium in Sátoraljaújhely, then for a short time he was a teacher at the lower gymnasium in Debrecen, between 1886–1890 at the R. K. Gymnasium in Miskolc, between 1890–1898 at the upper gymnasium in Szolnok, and between 1898–1920 at the upper gymnasium in Budapest’s 8th district. The subject of an interpellation in the House of Representatives was that in 1896 he left the Catholic Church and became non-denominational. However, the Minister of Religion and Public Education, Gyula Wlassics (1852–1937), rejected the speech, saying that he could not restrict freedom of expression.
