* Szilas, 1819 – † Nagybecskerek, 9 November 1869 / engineer ; ; He completed his studies at the Pest Engineering Institute in 1840, then became a chamber engineer in Bács County. Later he was the engineer of Pest County, and later the chief engineer of Pest and Tolna Counties. He put forward a proposal for the construction of a Danube Valley Canal in Pest County. The so-called “Átokcsatorna” built in the 1920s is the realization of his idea.
