Robert Pollak

* Košice, February 20, 1956 – / historian, museologist ; ; He completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown, graduating in 1974. He earned a degree in history from the Comenius University in Bratislava (1980). In 1981–1992, he was an employee of the Museum of Eastern Slovakia in Košice, where he organized numerous exhibitions and presentations as a curator of several collections. In 1992–1997, he worked in the business sector as a commercial manager. In 1999, he applied for the position of director of the Museum of Eastern Slovakia and has been at the head of the institution since June 25, 1999. He primarily deals with the hitherto little-studied areas and connections of the history of the Eastern Slovakian region. Under his leadership, the museum has become an important scientific workshop in Košice and the region. His publications appear in Slovak and Hungarian journals, the Historica Carpatica yearbook, and study volumes. In 2010, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary.
