* Bratislava, March 29/30, 1849 – † Bratislava, February 21, 1921 / mathematics–physics teacher, amateur astronomer, principal of the upper secondary school ; ; He graduated from the upper secondary school in Bratislava in 1868. He completed his university studies in Vienna between 1868 and 1872, where he obtained a teaching qualification in quantity, natural science and descriptive geometry. From 1872 to 1882 he taught at the Bratislava city real school, and from 1882 he was a teacher at the Bratislava Royal Catholic Upper Secondary School, and from 1896 its principal, where he also taught Fülöp Lénárd. He also dealt with astronomy and had a well-equipped private observatory. He actively participated in the work of the Bratislava Natural and Medical Association, where he gave numerous astronomical lectures and wrote articles for the association's newsletter. He made regular "shooting star" observations together with the Ógyalla Observatory. He compiled a five-digit logarithm table, published articles on planets and a comet, and on the photography of star clusters and nebulae. He also wrote several mathematics textbooks. Together with Frigyes Dohnányi (Ószombat) and the director-chief physician of the Bratislava State Hospital, appointed in 1896, József Pantocsek (Nagyszombat), he set up one of the first Hungarian X-ray laboratories in the school's physics laboratory. ; ; Main work: Astronomia.
