* Holics, October 7, 1799 – † Munich, April 12, 1836 / historian, lawyer, member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (from 1830) ; ; He studied philosophy and theology in Bratislava and became a Lutheran pastor in Holics in 1820. But a year later, in 1821, he resigned from his office and moved to Pest, where he became the tutor of Count László Teleki and studied law first in Pest and then in Sárospatak. In 1830, he made a tour of Western Europe with his student, collecting data related to Hungary in various archives. This is preserved in the manuscript library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences as the Petrovics collection. His most important work: Magyarország hörténetei ékértöké tábálbánk, 1830.
