Andras Pasternák

Dunaszerdahely, April 18, 1981 – / research chemist ; ; Although his birthplace is Dunaszerdahely, he has lived in Komárom since 1982. He completed his primary school (1987–1995) and high school (1995–1999) studies there. Between 1999–2004, he graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences of ELTE in Budapest as a chemist, and from 2005–2008, he was a student at the doctoral school of ELTE, where he obtained his doctoral degree (PhD) in the field of nanochemistry in 2010 based on his thesis entitled Formation and corrosion protection effect of alkyl phosphonate monolayer. Between 2004–2011, he was a colleague of the Chemical Research Center of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and from 2012, of the Natural Sciences Research Center of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. In 2011–2013, he conducted postdoctoral research at Bar Ilan University (Ramat Gan, Israel). His main research areas are nanotechnology, surface and colloid chemistry, scanning probe microscopy and corrosion protection. He edits the websites nano.lap.hu and korrozio.lap.hu. In addition to his work as a research chemist, he actively participates in the organization of the life of the Jewish community in Komárom.
