He began his career at the Chemical Laboratory of the State Railways. In 1930, he received a doctorate in humanities from the Budapest University of Science and Technology. From 1931, he worked at the water laboratory of the Budapest Institute of Public Health, and from 1946 to 1973, he was the head of the water department. His main field of expertise was water analytics and water technology. He developed a procedure for the deacidification and deironing of aggressive carbonated waters that destroy pipelines, and for protection against them.
