* Királyhelmec, December 19, 1939 – / chemical engineer, radiochemist, president of the Artúr Görgei Society in the Czech Republic ; ; He completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown, graduating in 1957. He obtained a chemical engineering diploma from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava in 1962. In 1962–1966, he worked first at the Dimitrov Chemical Works in Vágselly, and then from 1964 at the Eastern Slovak Iron Works in Košice. Between 1967–1979, he was a colleague at the Radiobiological Laboratory of the P. J. Šafárik University in Košice. In 1979, he became a candidate of chemical sciences (Determination of radioiodine in the environment based on its distribution in liquid–liquid systems). Between 1979 and 1992 he worked as a senior research fellow at the Institute of Radioecology and Applied Nuclear Technology. Between 1992 and 1993 he taught as an assistant professor at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Košice, and then settled in Řez, near Prague, with his second wife of Czech origin, who was also a radiochemist. In 1993 he defended his doctoral thesis (Analytical concentration-separation methods for determining the concentration of trace elements and radionuclides in the environment). ; Between 1993 and 1994 he worked at the Radiation Dosimetry Institute of CSTA71, and between 1994 and 2004 he was a nuclear and radiation protection inspector at the State Nuclear Safety Office. Between 2004 and 2012 he worked as a senior research fellow at the Nuclear Research Institute in Řez. He is currently a lecturer at the Department of Nuclear Chemistry at the Czech Technical University in Prague. His research interests include the peaceful use of nuclear energy, the environmental impact of radioactive materials, and the safety of radioactive waste. He has developed several original radiochemical and radioanalytical methods, as well as concentration and separation procedures. He also studies the migration and transport of radionuclides found in rocks and entering the soil. He has been on several study trips abroad (Germany, Japan, USA), and has participated in international conferences, where he has given nearly 100 lectures so far. He has published more than 100 research reports on his scientific results, and 80 original publications on the subject of radiochemistry and radiochemical analysis. He is a member of various professional societies, and for many years he was also a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Radioanalytical and ; Nuclear Chemistry. He takes an active role in the intellectual, cultural, and political life of Hungarians living in the Czech Republic. He was the chairman of the Hungarian branch of the Political Movement for Coexistence at one time, and a member of several parliamentary and ministerial minority committees and advisory boards. In 2005, he founded the Prague-based Artúr Görgei Society, which cherishes the memory of the later general who worked as a chemist in the Czech capital between 1845 and 1848. In 2012, a memorial plaque was placed on his former Prague residence at the initiative of the Society. From 1998, he also served as a presbyterian of the Prague Reformed Missionary Congregation for many years. His scientific popularization articles are published in the Prague Mirror. ; ; Main works: ; CRC Handbook of Radioanalytical Chemistry (co-author), 1991, ; Preconcentration Techniques for Trace Analysis (co-author), 1992.
