* Rozsnyó 12 December 1730 – †  St. Petersburg/Russia, 24 August 1779 / doctor, professional writer ; ; He completed his high school education in his hometown, and his medical studies in Wittenberg, Halle and Jena between 1748 and 1752. He began his medical practice in Rozsnyó, but in 1755, at the invitation of his uncle, Máté Fuker, he went to Russia, where he became the chief physician of the St. Petersburg military hospital. Later, he moved to Moscow, but from 1760 he worked again in St. Petersburg as a physician of the cadet school. He also participated in the training of military doctors, primarily teaching anatomy and surgical practice. In 1770, he organized the fight against the plague in Smolensk. He worked for years on compiling the first Russian medical encyclopedia, and almost all doctors and pharmacists in the country used it in practice. He also compiled a list of medicines used by military doctors, which was published in several editions. Several of his works written in Latin and Russian have survived. In 1779 he was awarded the title of court councilor. His work on the Smolensk plague epidemic (Observationes medicae de peste Smolenska) remained in manuscript.
