On September 1, 1957, the Hungarian-medium Eleven-Year Secondary School in Nagymegyer was opened, and István Jakab was appointed its director in the summer of 1957. The school started with two classes. The first 63 students came from the schools of Nagymegyer and the surrounding villages. The first full-time students of the school graduated in the 1959/60 school year, the students of the XI.
