Morvány, homemade salted cake

We also share with you the thoughts of one of the team members, Anikó: ; I didn't really understand how old-fashioned some people talk about, and why they mention, for example, mama's cocoa or cottage cheese cake or "morvány" so often. These are made from leavened dough, of course with cocoa filling, cottage cheese cake with cottage cheese, and morvány is a salty leavened dough, which is also usually made with sour cream, cottage cheese, and shortbread, according to the customs of each house. ; When the adults talked about it, I always thought that they must be mentioning "mama's cooking" so much because they tasted it for the first time, they got used to its flavors, so it has an unforgettable taste for them. But I always thought to myself that no matter how many times I tried the cakes, they would never compare to the chocolate, creamy cakes that I like better. I was sure that it could only be the way I thought, until I tasted grandma's real cake - her morványa. Then I realized that it's not the most delicious because I ate it for the first time, or because I haven't tasted anything else, but because grandma's heart and soul are in it, beyond her culinary skills. That's what makes it so delicious. I will never forget the moment I understood and the taste of that cake that I ate then. ; Since I know this, I can also join in the conversation about mom's cooking, wherever I am, I can smell the aroma, and see mom's satisfied smile in front of me, because she knows that her flavors are very delicious and that it also keeps the family together. ; ; Of course, Anikó also shared the famous recipe with us: ; ; Ingredients (4 pieces - for one baking sheet): ; 4 dl lukewarm milk ; 3 dkg yeast; 4 teaspoons sugar; 1 teaspoon salt; 50 dkg strudel flour; 13 dkg butter margarine; 1 tablespoon oil; 1 dl melted fat; ; Preparation time: 2 hours 40 minutes; ; In the lukewarm milk, stir the yeast with the sugar. Add the flour, salt and margarine. Knead for 20 minutes, and when it separates from the sides of the bowl, add the oil. Flour the top and cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Then form 4 loaves on a floured board and let rise again for 30 minutes. Then roll them out one by one, brush them with melted fat, salt them and press them together on all four sides, and grease and salt the top as well. ; We can also make shortbread or sour cream, then spread them with these after rolling. ; Place on a baking sheet and let rest for 30 minutes again, then bake in a preheated oven at 240 for 20-25 minutes. Very delicious, soft and filling. Excellent with sour bean soup or potato soup. ; ; We also learned that the Vágkirályfa morványsütők treat visitors to the village day every year, making them on site, baking them in the oven, and offering their wares. They are always a great success with it. They are also known in the area, and they make the sóslepényt or hajtoványt, but morvány only in Vágkirályfa. The word is also a village slur - Morványok. ; We also find it strange that the neighboring villages have eloquent, proper nicknames: Kajal - horse thieves, Deáki - caterpillars, Pered - szécskők, Vágfarkasd - cabbage shredders… ; What could this word mean: Morvány. For us, it is so sullen, not pretty, and its sound is not catchy. Well, even in relation to people, residents, what they might be like. But knowing many of them, perhaps they are as soft and lovable as a savoury cake. A true Morvány can only be someone who can make one, or who loves it more than anything else and eats it often. ; ;
