* Csécsény, 12 June 1728 – † Szepesváralja, 15 February 1804 / physicist, writer, Jesuit teacher. ; ; He entered the Jesuit order in 1745. From 1759 he worked as a teacher in many schools in the country, in 1776 he became the director of the Buda Academy and in 1777 a member of the university council. From 1788 he was abbot of Bélakert, in 1784 as a canon of Szepes he retired to Szepesváralja and dealt exclusively with the history of literature. He was considered one of the most outstanding teachers of his time: As a pioneer of scientific and popular literature in the Hungarian language, he had a significant impact on both scientific and literary literature. His physics book published in 1777 is significant not only as an attempt at language renewal, but also as the first Hungarian physics textbook that meets the standards of the time. In his popular work published in 1775, he promoted folk art and cottage industries.
