Katalin Misad

* Dunaszerdahely, January 19, 1961 – / linguist, university lecturer, head of department ; ; He completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown, graduating in 1980. He obtained a teaching certificate in Hungarian-Slovak at the Comenius University in Bratislava (1985). From 1986 to 1992, he taught at the Hungarian Language Elementary School in Dióspatony, and from 1992 he was an assistant professor at the Department of Hungarian Language and Literature at the Comenius University, and from 2011 he was the head of the department. He primarily teaches descriptive linguistics subjects and confrontational linguistics. He wrote his doctoral dissertation on Hungarian-Slovak comparative linguistics. Since 2001, he has been an internal employee of the Gramma Language Office in Dunaszerdahely. His main research area is Slovak-Hungarian confrontational linguistics and language planning, theoretical and methodological aspects of teaching Hungarian as a foreign language, but he also deals with language policy, educational and spelling issues. Since 2006, he has been a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He is an external collaborator of the National Pedagogical Institute, methodological advisor to the national final of the Kazinczy competition. He also writes a textbook.
