* Dobsina, 24/26 January 1852 – † Rožňava, 14 January 1886 / lawyer, archivist, historian ; ; He was the son of a poor mining family. He began his schooling in his hometown and completed high school in Rožňava. He qualified as a lawyer at the Prešov Law Academy. As a student in Prešov, his interest turned to history, and when he returned to Dobsina as a lawyer, he researched the city's past in his free time. He was entrusted with the management of the city archives and was also elected to the city council. In 1880, he ran for mayor of Dobsina, but lost by one vote. This failure also played a role in his moving to Rožňava in 1882 and from then on focused his historical research on the past of Rožňava. He was a very prolific author who dealt with many topics.
