Alexander Mihalik

† Košice, 1 January 1869 – 1940 ? / teacher, state civil school principal, local historian ; ; younger brother of state higher commercial school teacher József Mihalik. He completed his studies in Košice and Igló, where he received an elementary school teacher's certificate in 1888. In 1888-1889, he tutored for a year at the house of landowner Miklós Máriássy in Szepeskörtvélyes. Later, he went to Budapest to continue his studies, and in 1892, he received a civil school teacher's certificate in linguistics and history. From 1892 to 1899, he taught at the state civil school in Resitabánya, and from 1899 he was the principal of the state civil school in Orsova. He also held the position of president of the Krassó-Szörény County Teachers' Association. The Archaeological Bulletin, the Bulletin of the South Hungarian Archaeological and Historical Society, the Guide of the South Hungarian Carpathian Association and the Newspaper of Folk Teachers published his biographical, archaeological and pedagogical articles.
