* Kövesfalva, c. 1640 – † Wittenberg, October 3, 1724 / Lutheran theologian, philosopher and university professor ; ; József Szinnyei (MIÉM) indicates the settlement of Stein in Bars County as his birthplace. He studied in Zsarnó, Újbánya, Rajec, Liptószentmiklós, Bártfa, Késmárk, Košice, Eperjes, and then began his university studies in Boroszló in 1671. He was a student at the University of Wittenberg from 1675 and was awarded a doctorate in philosophy in 1681. He married in 1686 and settled permanently in the city. He placed his library, as an institution to be maintained separately and managed by Hungarian students (Bibliotheca Nationis Hungaricae), under the authority of the University of Wittenberg and ensured its survival with foundations. He taught philosophy at the university and became dean in 1712. He primarily wrote ecclesiastical philosophical works in Latin and sometimes in German.
