* Vághosszúfalu, January 29, 1951 – / chemist, astrophysicist, astronomer, associate professor ; ; He completed his school studies in his native village and at the Galanta gymnasium, where he graduated in 1969. In 1969–1974 he studied chemistry at the Charles University in Prague, then in 1979 he graduated in physics and astronomy, and in 1981 he obtained his doctoral degree. In 1976–1980 he was an employee of the Prague Observatory. In 1980–1984 he was a post-graduate student in Budapest, and in 1985 he obtained his PhD. Since 1984 he has been teaching at the Department of Astronomy of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University in Prague. He was habilitated as an associate professor in 2000, and received his doctorate in physics in 2001. His research interests include general relativity and the theory of gravity, stellar physics, background radiation, theoretical questions of gamma-ray bursts, and dark matter in the Universe. To date, he has published more than 80 scientific papers in Czech, Hungarian, and major international journals (Astrophysical Journal, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Astronomische Nachrichten, Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, Physical Review, etc.), as well as in conference proceedings. He has given lectures as a guest lecturer at foreign universities on several occasions. He is a regular participant and speaker at international conferences. In the 1980s, he also published popular articles in the Slovak Weekly and the Madách Calendar. ; ; Main works: ; ; A possible fast growth of the adiabatic cosmological perturbations (Astronomy and Astrophysics, 278), 1993, ; On the Anisotropy of Cosmic Microwave Background (Astrophysical Journal, 423, p. 19), 1994, ; The Brightness Distribution of Bursting Sources in Relativistic Cosmologies (with Péter Mészáros, Astrophysical Journal, 449, p. 9), 1995, ; On the formation of voids via shell crossing scenario (Acta Physica Hungarica New Series, 1, p. 107, dedicated to the memory of E.
