From 1920 he was a professional military physician, from 1936 he was the chief physician of the Air Force. From 1931 he was an outstanding expert in aviation medicine, medical officer. In the 1930s he made several study trips to Germany, France, the Netherlands, and England. In 1938 he organized the first aerodynamic institute, the first high-altitude experimental station, where adaptation to oxygen deprivation was studied. The Aviation Medical Testing Institute was built based on his plans. In 1941 he was a private university teacher, lecturer in aviation medicine at the medical faculties of Budapest and Cluj-Napoca. In 1940 he joined the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky circle, he rescued and hid persecuted people in the Pajor Sanatorium. From 1945 he was the commander of the Red Cross Hospital, from 1946 he was the head of the health department of the Ministry of Defense. In 1948 he helped organize the Hungarian Blood Donor Center. In 1950, in a mock trial, in which László Sólyom was the main defendant (in the so-called "generals' trial"), he was sentenced to death and executed. He was reburied on October 13, 1956. However, his full rehabilitation only took place in 1990.
