Gaspar Menyhárt

* Ekel, January 6, 1868 – † Budapest, July 30, 1940 / lawyer, university professor, corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences ; ; He studied law at the University of Cluj-Napoca, and in 1892 he obtained a doctorate in political science. He passed his bar exam in 1895. Between 1895 and 1911 he worked as a lawyer in Cluj-Napoca, but from 1898 he also taught Hungarian private law at the university. From 1911 to 1919 he was a public regular teacher. After the change of empire, the University of Cluj fled to Szeged, where Gáspár Menyhárt first worked as dean and then as rector. He dealt with family law, the law of obligations, and other branches of private law. Between 1936 and 1940 he was the editor of the journal Jog.
