* Csallóköznyék, January 24, 1870 – † Budapest, May 19, 1940/ railway engineer, university professor ; ; He completed his secondary school studies in Bratislava and his engineering studies in Budapest at the Royal Hungarian József Nádor Technical University, where he obtained a diploma in 1895. After two years of private engineering practice, he worked as an assistant teacher and then as an assistant professor with Professor Sándor Lipthay between 1897 and 1906. He participated in the editing of the first Hungarian-language railway construction textbook. From 1906, he taught future Hungarian mechanical engineers as one of the most prominent authorities on railway construction. In 1915, he received the title of extraordinary teacher, and in 1925, following the death of Professor Szilárd Zielinszki, he was appointed a public regular teacher of the road and railway construction department. His area of expertise was primarily the installation and development of railway safety and signaling equipment. He participated in the construction of the Uzsok and Austrian Alpine Railways and also prepared the plans for numerous small railways and mine railways. In the field of public road construction, he primarily dealt with road surface issues. Between 1917 and 1932, he was the director of the Hungarian Engineers and Architects Association.
