Paul Maurovich-Horvath

* Komárom, October 30, 1978 – / physician, cardiologist, university lecturer ; ; He began his school studies in his hometown, graduating from Selye János Gymnasium in 1997. In 1997–1998 he was a student at the Faculty of Architecture of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, but from 1998 he studied at the Faculty of General Medicine of the Slovak University of Technology in Budapest, where he obtained a diploma in 2006. Between 2006–2008 he was a student at the Doctoral School of Theoretical Medicine of the Slovak University of Technology, where he obtained a PhD degree. In 2010–2012 he studied at Harvard University in Boston (USA) and received a Master in Public Health degree. As a student, he participated in research programs related to cardiology, in which he became familiar with the application of the most modern diagnostic imaging methods (primarily CT) and went on study tours to several European universities. He participated in scientific student competitions and won several scholarships and scientific awards (among others: Albert Renold Scholarship – 2009, SE Merit Award – 2012, Richter Gedeon Award – 2013, etc.). He is currently the head of the MTA-SE “Lendület” Cardiovascular Imaging Research Group.
