* Rozsnyó, October 24, 1844 – † Košice, March 19, 1912 / lawyer, economist, ; university professor ; ; Son of the Czech-born composer Mariska Vencel (1816–1901). He completed his high school studies in his hometown. He originally trained as a pianist, but, abandoning his music studies, he studied law at the University of Pest. Initially, he was a legal trainee at the Budapest Court of Appeals, then an educator. In 1865, he earned his doctorate. From 1868 to 1891, he was a professor at the Košice Law Academy, with a short break in Győr. In 1891, he became a full professor at the University of Budapest. He published regularly in the Közgazdasági Szemle, the Jogtudományi Közlöny, the Politikai Szemle and other journals. He wrote the articles on state economics and Hungarian financial law in the Pallas Nagy Lexikona.
