* Léva, June 13, 1884 – † Budapest, April 8, 1958 / smelter engineer ; ; In 1908, he obtained a degree in iron smelting engineering from the Mining and Forestry College in Selmecbánya. After a long study trip to America, he worked in various Hungarian rolling mills. From 1921, he was the manager of the rolling mill of the Korompa Iron and Steel Works in Czechoslovakia, owned by the Rimamurány-Salgótarjáni Vasmű Rt., and then of the rolling mill of the Mining and Metallurgical Companies in Třinec. His most significant theoretical achievement was the Mercader formula developed for determining the dimensions of stretching oval cavities, and in practical terms, the construction and commissioning of several modern belt lines. After 1945, he participated in the modernization and development of Hungarian metallurgical plants. From 1950 he was the head of the rolling mill design department of the Budapest Metallurgical Design Office.
