Majlath Castle
When Majláth married Antónia Sennyey, he received Perbenyik as a dowry along with the other Sennyey estates. He wanted to settle down and farm here with his wife. He built not only the castle, but also the Roman Catholic chapel. As a manorial center, the castle boosted not only the settlement but also the life of the region. The castle, which was originally built as a single-storey building, was transformed in 1899. A floor was added and expanded. The works were led by the Budapest architect József Hubert, who also built the Bajmóc Castle, for example.
Today, the building is home to the Perbenyik bilingual Vocational School. Although its halls cannot be visited, the exterior, park and courtyard of the building are so attractive that visitors to the region still consider it among the important sights. The park boasts mostly exotic trees, such as yew or Chinese ginko biloba.
