* Veszverés, 28 February 1729 – † Rimaszombat, 20 November 1805 / doctor, specialist writer ; ; He came from a serf family, despite this his farmer father also knew Latin. He studied in Csetnek from 1742, in Késmárk from 1744, and in Lőcse from 1749. In 1750 he went to Debrecen, as his autobiography written in Latin shows, also to learn the Hungarian language. Here he was also taught by Professor István Hatvani (Rimaszombat). In 1754 he went to Boroszló, where he worked as a pharmacist's assistant and in the meantime - living in rather poor circumstances, exposed to various adversities, and even being robbed - he continued his medical studies. Due to the Austro-Prussian War, he fled to Halle and then to Wittenberg, where he enrolled in the university in 1757, which he finally successfully completed with the support of his patrons in 1770. In the meantime, in 1762, he became the keeper of the Wittenberg autopsy museum. In 1765, he returned to Boroszló, and from there to Hungary. Since his father expelled him, he went abroad again: to Leipzig, Wittenberg, and then to Berlin. In 1771, having obtained his medical degree, he returned to Hungary, to Rozsnyó, and in 1772 he was appointed chief physician of Liptó County. In 1774, he had his medical degree naturalized with another rigorous examination at the Medical University of Nagyszombat. In 1776, Kishon County invited him to become its physician, and he settled in Rimaszombat and lived here until his death. In 1788, he listed the midwives, pharmacists and midwives operating in the county. This is an interesting medical and local history document, in which he also makes suggestions for improving the health care situation, especially midwifery training. He can also be considered the forerunner of sugar production in Hungary: he produced sweet syrup from corn stalks, which he could not sufficiently thicken and crystallize. ; ; His main works: ; De modo regenerationis vasorum…(doctoral thesis), 1770, ; Theoria affinitatum chemicarum, quam ... in regia univ. Tyrnaviensi publicae disquisitioni submittit, 1774 (subsequent thesis prepared for the University of Nagyszombat).
