* Szepesbéla, April 21, 1841 – † Budapest, January 6, 1919 / railway construction engineer, president of MÁV ; ; son of János Ludvigh. He completed his school studies abroad, after his father was forced to emigrate following the suppression of the Hungarian War of Independence in 1848/49. He obtained his diploma at the University of Brussels. He first worked in railway construction and planning in Belgium, then in Spain in 1863, where he had a leading role in the planning of the Seville-Portugal railway. He returned home in 1867 and became a department engineer at the railway central office. He then studied the Belgian, French and Turkish railways. The Bosnian-Romanian railway connections were designated based on his technical proposals. In 1881, he was the head of the road and public construction department in the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and from 1883, he was a member of the board of directors of the state railways. From 1887 to 1909, he was the president of MÁV, during which time he did a lot for the development of the railway network. From 1893, he was a member of the House of Lords. From 1909, he was the general manager of the Kassa-Oderberg railway.
