* 1762. December 24. Magyarizsép † 1831. February 16. Abara / Reformed dean, church writer. ; ; His father, Mihály Liszkay, was a landed nobleman in Magyarizsép (Zemplén County). After completing his schooling in Sárospatak from 1770 to 1782, he became a chaplain and then a pastor in Málca. In March 1799 he went to Palágy, in May 1804 to Bező, in March 1806 to Nagykapos, and in March 1810 to Abara as a priest. The diocese of Ungi-Felső Zemplén elected him dean in the same year. ; In 1824, he published a hymnbook for the Slovak Reformed, supplemented with prayers and funeral hymns, for which he took the 1752 hymnbook as a basis, but with the help of others he translated new hymns from the Hungarian new hymnbook, including the 224th and 232nd hymns he composed, one of which was also taken over into the hymnbook used before. He also published a Slovak catechism under the title “A Short Introduction to the Truths and Obligations of the Church” (after Superville) (Sárospatak, 1813). His Hungarian sermons that he delivered at the funerals of Istvánné Jósa Mária Kazinczy (1815) and István Kazinczy (1828), as well as at the inauguration of the Solomonic Temple, were also published. His works have also survived in manuscript, of which the history of the ecclesiastical churches in his diocese is the most important. ; ; Works: ; 1.
