Lipscher Mor

* Csaca, around 1870 – † Komárom, second half of 1944 ? / surgeon, hospital director ; ; We do not know the exact date of his birth and we know little about his childhood. He received his medical degree from the University of Budapest in 1895. From 1898 to 1902, he worked as one of Manó Herczel's colleagues in the III. Department of Surgery of the Budapest Szent István Hospital, and in the summer of 1900, he performed the first brain tumor operation in Hungary, which was soon followed by another brain tumor operation. Between 1903 and 1935, until his forced retirement, he worked as the director of the Komárom hospital. He was the first to operate in Komárom, which had not been done there before. He certainly had the first place in Slovakia in the field of brain tumor operations. In the early summer of 1944, the Jews of Komárom and the surrounding area were rounded up and taken to the death camps. Among them was the seriously ill Mór Lipscher, whose further fate is unknown.
