István Lanstyák

* Losonc, July 13, 1959 – / linguist, university professor ; ; He graduated from high school in Fülek and Selmecbánya (graduated in 1978). He obtained a Hungarian-English teaching certificate from the Kossuth Lajos University of Debrecen (in 1983). He taught at the Selmecbánya preparatory high school from 1983 to 1986, and from 1986 he was a graduate student, assistant professor (from 1989), associate professor (from 1999), and professor (from 2012) at the Department of Hungarian Language and Literature at the Comenius University in Bratislava. He obtained his PhD degree in 1995. Since 2001 he has been an employee of the Gramma Language Office in Dunaszerdahely. He publishes his studies and language-training articles in Hungarian and Hungarian journals in Slovakia. He is the co-author of several volumes of studies. His research interests include sociolinguistics, including bilingualism and dialectology. He also deals with translation theory. He edited (with Tamás Repiszky) Zoltán Fábry's diary Üresjárat 1945–1948 (1991).
