Horn Stringing Festival
Other - other
The primary goal of the festival is to present the traditional Lenten dish, kötés, and to reintroduce it into Hungarian gastronomic culture. In addition to presenting the various kötés (their professional evaluation, as well as sharing experiences and good practices), visitors can also hear exciting lectures on the physiological effects of folk dishes and balanced nutrition in the spirit of livable tradition and folk culture. The average attendance of the festival reaches 350 people, which represents the full capacity of the available building. The number of entered kötés varies between 15 and 30 each year. The festival is a special place where gastronomy and folk culture meet, which is unique – not only in the area, but for now in the whole world. The event also took advantage of the synergistic opportunities that local artisans offer to those interested in tradition. We also focus on addressing the younger generation, which is why the accompanying programs were basically aimed at children (playhouse - so parents could relax). In addition to the young audience, the festival also provides space for emerging artists year after year. The event series also hosts a meeting of contemporary photographers and folk artists combined with an exhibition. The festival is thus a major tradition-preserving event that can be held during the Lenten period, serving the needs of modern times while remaining fully authentic to its roots.
