Kéménd fairs
Other - other
A fair (sokadalom) is an organized occasion for buying and selling. The sokadaloms were the centers of peasant exchange, as they were considered the main places for animal trade. People went here to sell their wares, and here they acquired the products that the peasant economy could not produce. The place of the fair was always a significant town, which, due to its geographical location, was the center of smaller or larger regions. The fairs in Kéménd also occupied a central place in terms of barter turnover, as most people went here. The “cattle driven up” and the quantity of goods concentrated here were the largest here. ; The fairs in Kéménd are considered a tradition. The management of our Kéménd Tájház Civic Association would like to preserve and continue this tradition by planning two festive fairs.
