The Kuntapolca hot spring also appears in the name of the village. The spring water, which is 17 degrees Celsius all year round, covers a significant part of the village's drinking water needs. This water source is a karst spring with a high water flow, which is led into a larger basin. The people of the village refer to this abundant drinking water source as "stream".
