* 1933. Jul. 20. Medve, † 2002. Nov. 27. Nyitra / Pedagogical writer, associate professor, educational researcher, textbook author ; ; Dezső Kulacs was born on July 20, 1933 in the village of Medve on the banks of the Danube. In 1958, he earned a teaching certificate from the Faculty of Humanities of the Comenius University in Bratislava. From 1959, he taught as a secondary school teacher at the Hungarian-language Eleven-Year Secondary School in Galanta, and later worked at the Nyitra District Pedagogical Institute. As a university lecturer, he taught at the Department of Educational Sciences of the Faculty of Pedagogy in Nitra (now Konstantin University) from 1962 until his death. He earned his doctoral and candidate's degrees from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1975. In 1980, he became an associate professor at the Faculty of Pedagogy in Nitra. His teaching and scientific activities were mainly oriented towards the subject area of general education theory. In addition, he paid special attention to the pedagogical-psychological conditions of the modern educational process (e.g.: motivation for learning in primary and secondary schools). His later activities were devoted to the modernization of pedagogical career choices and teacher training. He is the author of several university notes and studies, which he published in both Hungarian and Slovak. He also translated pedagogical, psychological and methodological literature into Hungarian. ; He was a member of the Hungarian section at the Department of Educational Sciences, where he mainly taught general education theory, and later educational history, pedagogical methodology, comparative pedagogy and literacy methodology. In addition to these activities, he also led special seminars, in which he dealt with pedagogical diagnostics. During his forty-year teaching career, he was an active participant in many scientific conferences, and the number of hours he spent consulting his graduates was almost incalculable. Anyone who knew him, anyone who heard of him, knew that he knew no fatigue or rejection. He was always ready to help and advise future teachers. He could relieve even the most tense moments with a particularly humorous remark or comment, which ultimately had educational and pedagogical value. Nothing characterizes his work ethic and dedication better than the fact that last year he even wrote a university note on general methodology so that students could access the latest knowledge of didactics in their native language. ; Artists leave works to posterity, Dezső Kulacs' legacy is his entire life and scientific work. His work lives on in every teacher he taught. From now on, we will not have the opportunity to ask for his advice or guidance. ; ; His most significant publications, without claiming to be exhaustive: ; Kulacs D. – Mircz K.: Our Mother Tongue.
