For a few years he was a castle physician in Männersdorf, from 1847 to 1853 he was a city physician in Holice, from 1854 to 1861 he was the chief physician of the county hospital in Nagyszombat and the medical officer of Nitra County. From 1861 he was a physician in Baden, from 1863 to 1869 he was a district physician in Neukirchen, and from 1869 until his death he was a physician in Wiener Neustadt. In his free time, he primarily botanized, collecting plants in various areas of the empire (in the Austrian Alps, around Holics and the White Carpathians, around Nagyszombat, in the High and Low Tatras, etc.). His herbarium supposedly contained about 7,000 items. He published his botanical and floristic papers in Hungarian (Magyar Gazda, Magyarhoni Természetebárát) and German journals, yearbooks, and in the Pressburger Zeitung. He was the first to show the occurrence of several plant species and genera in Nitra County.
