Jenő Kriek

* Szeged, July 19, 1861 – † Léva, September 26, 1940 / teacher, entomologist, museologist ; ; He completed his school studies in his hometown. He obtained a civil school teacher qualification. He taught for a short time in Sárospatak, then settled in Léva in 1881 and lived there until his death. Between 1885 and 1896, he taught biology and workshop practice as a temporary teacher at the Léva Teacher Training College, and then as a permanent teacher until 1915. In 1911, he became the director of the teacher training college. He was one of the most popular and significant teachers of the institution. He prepared the three-dimensional map of Léva, and had a significant collection of entomology, primarily beetles, but this was lost after his death. Léva was also active in public life. Together with the art collector József Nécsey from Verebély, he made great contributions to the founding of the Léva City Museum in 1927.
