Miklos Kovats

* Košice, September 7, 1936 – / literary historian, professional writer, teacher ; ; He completed his school studies in his hometown, graduating from the Košice Industrial School in 1954. He obtained a teaching certificate in Hungarian history at the Pedagogical College in Bratislava in 1959. In 1972, he defended his doctoral dissertation in Hungarian literature at the Comenius University. He was a factory worker from 1959 to 1964, and from 1964 until his retirement, he was a teacher at the Košice Commercial Vocational High School. His doctoral dissertation was the basis for his monograph on Hungarian acting and dramatic literature in Czechoslovakia between the two world wars.
