After that, he took the basic law exam at the Reformed College in Pápa in 1881, and then the notary exam in 1884. Later, he also took a specialized exam in state accounting and archive management. In 1902, after spending two months at the Ethnographic Department of the MNM, he also passed the exam in ethnography. Between 1900 and 1921, he was the archivist of Tolna County, and then between 1921 and 1930, he was the chief archivist. In addition, between 1901 and 1907, he was the keeper of the ethnographic department of the Tolna County Museum, and then from 1908 until his death, he was the director of the museum. He did this task for free. His main research topic was the ethnography of Sárköz, but he also published historical writings.
