In addition to his legal studies, he studied at the Model Drawing School in Vienna and then in Budapest. He began his career in the Ministry of Culture. In 1902, he went to Rome on a scholarship, and later to Turkey. From 1908 to 1914, he was the secretary of the General Inspectorate of Museums. Between 1914 and 1919, he was the director of the Košice Museum and organized numerous exhibitions there. From 1919 to 1923, he lived in Tátraszéplak and became one of our most outstanding Tatra painters. From 1923 he lived in Levoča for 12 years, was the director of the city museum and published valuable art history studies in the Szepesi Híradó, of which he was editor-in-chief for a while. It was then that he discovered the old wall paintings of the church in Szepesdaróc, which he professionally restored. In 1939 he became the director of the Museum of Applied Arts, and retired in 1946. He painted naturalistic figurative compositions and landscapes. In 1930 he had a collective exhibition in Késmárk.
