He earned a secondary school teacher's degree and a doctorate in humanities. He was a secondary school teacher in Kalocsa. After the 1956 revolution, he fled to the West. He settled in Canada. He studied Slavic studies and oriental languages at the University of Montreal, and earned a master's degree. He taught in secondary schools, organized the Canadian Hungarian Teachers' Working Community. He participated in the editing of several newspapers.
