István Kossanyi

István Kossányi was born on December 13, 1909 in Szentpéter (Komárom district). His parents - grandmother and grandfather - both taught at the local elementary school. The Kossányi family is highly regarded in the village office's brochure and in the village. My grandparents Alajos Kossányi and his wife Erszébet Bohon are mentioned as notable persons, who contributed greatly to the cultural development of the village. He has great respect for his brother, József Kossányi, whose name the elementary school took on in 2003 (József Kossányi Elementary School). Of the grandparents' 6 living children, only one did not choose a teaching career. After elementary school, my father continued his studies in Komárom and then in Nyitra, and began his teaching career as a cantor teacher in Ekecs. In 1940 he married Irén Bors, the daughter of a teacher from Ekecs. After the war, when Hungarian-language schools were abolished, he taught in Bosáca Sancé (near Vágújhely), and in 1950 he was appointed director of the Bős primary school. In 1955 he became director of the 8-year primary school in Dunaszerdahely. Unfortunately, I do not know for how long, but he also taught in the gymnasium and was a district inspector. From 1967 he became director of the special school in Tallós, in the Eszterházy castle. He died in 1979. ; For a long time he was a member of the Presidium of the Dunaszerdahely District Committee of the Csemads.
