* Nemesócsa, April 18, 1903 – † Michigan-City/USA, November 1, 1978 / physician, medical historian ; ; He completed his secondary schooling in Nagyszombat and Komárom, and his university studies in Halle, Berlin, Zurich and Budapest. He obtained his medical doctorate in 1932. He started at the Pajor Sanatorium, then from 1936 he worked at the 2nd Obstetrics Clinic. In 1938 he became secretary of the Central Committee for Medical Further Education, and in 1941 director of the State Midwifery Training Institute. In 1936 he obtained a university private teacher qualification. He lectured on the subject of ancient medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the Pázmány Péter University. His main research areas are Roman medical relics in Pannonia, Hungarian gynecology, the history of Semmelweis and Hungarian obstetrics, and the development of health care in Hungary. He regularly published in domestic and foreign journals. From 1937, as chairman of the Medical History Committee of the Royal Medical Association of Budapest, he did much to develop and popularize the education of Hungarian medical history, and to expand the collections of the association's Medical History Museum. In 1944, he left Hungary with his evacuated institute. From 1945, he lived in the USA, where he worked as a chief obstetrician-gynecologist in various medical institutions. From 1954 until his retirement, he was an assistant professor at the Gynecology Clinic of the University of Chicago. In his last years, he studied the flora and ; fauna of the shores of Lake Michigan.
