* Vép, c. 1725 – † Tata, after 1800 / Piarist priest teacher, first rector of the Collegium Oeconomicum in Szent; ; He entered the Piarist order in Privigyén in 1740. Here he prepared to teach mathematics and taught in Vác in 1743, then in Debrecen. In 1745 he completed the philosophy course in Pest, and finally completed his theological studies in Debrecen. In the following years he taught in Nagykároly, Debrecen, Veszprém and Pest. In 1763, at the suggestion of the Piarist order, Maria Theresa appointed him the first rector of the newly founded Collegium Oeconomicum in Szent. He held this position until 1770. His task was not always grateful, as he had to teach spoiled noble youths, who sometimes committed disciplinary offenses. In 1770 he was transferred to Szeged, and from there to Tata, where the Szentac college was also moved. It was also his merit that the institution's library could be established and he also enriched it with his own books. When Joseph II dissolved the church orders, the Tata college also closed its doors. Kristóf Kónya then became a high school teacher in Nagykanizsa and then in Kecskemét, but he also taught in Szentanna in Transylvania, from where he moved permanently to Tata in 1788.
