Kollányi (Kollárovits) Laszlo

* Ipolyság, January 7, 1934 – † Budapest, May 16, 2006 / plant breeder, university professor ; ; He completed four grades of elementary school in his hometown, then graduated from Balassi Bálint High School in Balassagyarmat in 1953. He obtained a horticultural engineering diploma from the Budapest College of Horticulture in 1957. From the summer of 1957, he worked at the Fertőd Plant Breeding and Crop Production Research Institute, his field of expertise was the breeding, plant protection and mechanical harvesting of raspberries and blackberries. In 2003, he was appointed honorary university professor. He was the co-author of several monographs dealing with the cultivation of berries (raspberries, blackberries, cloudberries, currants, gooseberries, etc.).
