The seat of the first Hungarian king, crowned at the beginning of January 1001, was nearby Esztergom. The entire area was the king's estate, and the king's cattle and sheep farms were located in this area. As we know from the information provided by the Balassa Bálint Museum in Esztergom, in the early 1020s, during a drought, the king ordered the digging of a larger well here for watering the animals. When it was finished, it was lined with oak beams and became the size of a cubic meter. Houses for the shepherds and shepherds were built nearby, and their number continued to grow, expanding into a smaller and then a larger village. This well was named Köbölkút after the well that led to its formation. ; ;  ,
